Time to check-in, with possibly no one, but I want this Blog to survive a few more years.  Also, I'm interested to see if I remember how to create a post.

A picture book came across my desk the other day and it was love at first flip-through.
It is To See an Owl by Matthew Cordell, and it is my pick for this year's Caldecott Award.

I love the illustrations, and the different perspectives Cordell uses throughout the book.  Sometimes we are seeing the woods and trees from the perspective of the little girl, down on the ground.  Sometimes we are seeing the snowy landscape below from the tops of a tree as if from the eyes of an owl.  The two-page spread of the classroom is a favorite of mine.  Cordell is a wizard with multicolored ball point pens! Each page of this book is gold.

Well, that's all for now.  Apparently blogging is much like riding a bike, it all comes back to you.

In the words of Margaret Wise Brown, "Goodnight nobody, goodnight mush" from the old lady whispering hush.  Seriously, lately I have soooooo been relating to that little-old nanny bunny.  Sometimes I just want to walk up to people, look them in the eye, put my finger to my lips and say "hush".  In a polite way of course...maybe.  Sometimes we all just need a little quiet.  Hey, look at that!  I guess digressing is like riding a bike as well.  Woohoo!

Have a happy, creative day, Ya'll!
